It was assumed the Black Friday effect of crack down of many online poker sites in US will lead to low turnout for this years WSOP as compared to last year, but it seems that the poker playing community is not much bothered about it and will take up the sport no matter whatever form it comes in.

After the indictments federal prosecutors reached agreements with the three firms to allow them to use their sites to refund money back to players which they had in their accounts. Though it’s a work in progress for now, so the crackdown raised questions about whether the inability of players to access their money would result in diminished attendance at the WSOP.

How To Build Your Poker Strategy

Comments Off Poker Strategy, Poker Tips

Plan your strategy when you really think you understand the basic rules of the game and also the odds related to the game. Once you are confident with the fundamentals of the game that’s when you start calculating your second step by studying and understanding your opponents and developing strategy that will help you outplay them.

If you understand the normal playing trend of any player at various stages of a game it will be either playing loose or tight, which means that they will be play lots of hands or very few hands. Some players will play exclusively loose or tight as a part of their poker strategy it can be very beneficial to spot a tendency towards one or the other. It’s found that tight players have a tendency to play fewer hands and because of a surfeit of caution open themselves to bluffing. On the other hand you see that loose players have a tendency to play too many hands as they over value poor to medium strength hands.

Players will also play hands either passively or aggressively. Whether a player is passive or aggressive is determined by the way that they make bets. A passive player believes that a cautious approach to betting is the correct poker strategy, calling rather than betting. An aggressive player believes that the correct poker strategy is to take risks and place large bets thus forcing opponents to make tough decisions.

Passive players are susceptible to folding a little easily to big bets and can be easily scared; it pays to quickly get a measure of their passivity and for the sake of your poker strategy find the level of betting that makes them either comfortable or uneasy. Aggressive players tend to bet big and bet hard, they should be tackled with caution. If you have good cards it can pay to play an aggressive player at their own game to shake their confidence or possibly take down a monster pot.

Poker players can be broadly classified into four general types. Accordingly they can be either tight passive, tight aggressive, loose passive or loose aggressive. Every way of playing has its advantage & weaknesses. For example loose aggressive players tend to throw too many chips at too many hands, if you spot a loose aggressive player your poker strategy should be to wait until you get the right cards and get them to put as many chips as possible into the pot and then lay into them with a well timed aggressive bet. By spotting a players’ particular tendencies and being alert to the changes in the way they play you can shift your poker strategy to exploit the weaknesses in the way they play.

Maybe the most reasonable tip that you can receive is to understand the basics of this game and not how to become a poker champion. In general, poker is a game which is very easy to understand as long as you don’t stop thinking but this is true for most things in life.

The strongest hand in Texas Hold’em poker is the Royal Flush. Every other hand gets flushed by it. This is the winning hand. There are the rest of the hands in crescent order: High Card hand, One Pair, Two Pair, Three of a Kind, Straight, Flush, Full House or Boat, Four of a Kind and the Straight Flush. If you don’t know what these cards mean you should do some research and check them out. You don’t have any chance on the table if you don’t know these cards or how to combine them.

When it comes to betting and you have a good card in Texas Hold’em poker one of the best tips is to bet carefully and slowly. If you are too confident the betting will become a battlefield of wits between you and the rest of the players. For example it is not good at all if from the very start you bet everything that you have, because in that way you are giving up your card. Many players will not like it because it ruins the pleasure of playing this game. The idea is more to convince the other players that your hand is not trump hand and you are just bluffing.

Other tip in Texas Hold’em poker is working on your face for poker, but it is not recommended for all people. It may sound as a cliché, but it is working. Your chances of bluffing out yourself from an awful deal or pulling off a good hand are better if you know how to control your emotions. The less emotions, the better. There are many players who read not only the cards, but also the body language of the players who hold the cards. For example, if you are playing with professionals, they will analyze every move you make.

So if you are just starting out with Texas Hold’em poker you should consider that it is better if you show less emotion. The moment you start controlling your reactions, you can look at the other side of the table and you can start paying attention to the other players- their behaviour and their body language.

“The unraveling of this whole event has been bizarre and overwhelming,” wrote Macedo. “Although I genuinely believed up until this whole thing exploded that I had won the challenge fair and square, I recognize that I have no choice but to accept full responsibility for breaking the rules. As I said before, I want to be fully transparent and let the poker world know exactly what happened and why so there is no question about what my actions and intentions were.”

“José is young and he has made a big mistake here. We wanted to make sure that regardless of being a LockPRO that he won this fair and square. Although José won enough money from his own IP to have legitimately won the challenge, the unfortunate fact remains that breaking the rules is strictly disallowed. It nevertheless remains José is an exceptional player and I firmly believe that his mistakes only lead to greatness if he learns from them and himself moves forward.”
